Tiles

From Neverend

Tiles exist as two triangles forming a square, or multiple triangles forming hexagons or octogons. Tiles can be set on land to display plants and terrain, and tiles can be dynamically made for combat to measure distance of moves. Tiles can expand and collapse width, rotate, and encircle, so combatants only measure relative distance and direction rather than be stuck with strict adherence to tile area. The measurements for combat tiles are dynamic and expand and contract based on the size of the targets.

Land tiles are aligned in a grid, but terrain and plants being displayed are not on a grid unless it is an orchard. Plants, terrain, and doodads are placed in such a way that they look randomly placed rather than being aligned in squares, and may occupy half or one fourth of a tile or overlap with another tile to further create a non-grid look.
