Store

From Neverend

Jump to: navigation, search

A player run store can include a physical building, a tent, a table stand, or a rug. Players can browse inventory through a menu, and look at set prices. Store inventory is physically within the store area, so that a chest full of items, a display case, a display stand, wall display, shelves, baskets, barrels, crates, boxes, safes, bags, or shopkeeper inventory is all counted as available on the shop menu. If the item is on the menu and becomes stolen, taken, destroyed, moved out of the store radius, or is gone for some reason, it is removed from the menu.

Store owners can set their own prices on goods. They can also list a "will buy" or "wanted" entry, which has an item that will award X money if a customer trades that item.

Stores can be run AFK, but it is not recommended, as they can be stolen from, attacked, vandalized, or destroyed. Stores can have NPC and player "employees" who are given a wage set by the owner, and an interval of payment. The owner offers positions through an employment menu, and players can accept.

NPCs who are hired can be "set" to do tasks, including guard, watch store, clean trash, give information, say message, restock, open container, close container, lock container, attack, offer item, or offer service.

Stores cover a broad range of building types, with specific menus to handle them:

Bank: Sells storage space, savings accounts, loans, safekeeping, investment plans, and currency exchange service. Owner can set terms, prices, and positive or negative interest rates.

Inn: Offers room occupation for X time at X cost.

Brothel: Offers room occupation for X time at X cost with X person.

Bar: Offers drinks, food.

Restaurant: (Cafe, bakery, grill, bar, diner, etc) Offers food. Food is stored or prepared. Food is served through employees or robotics. Food is offered on a counter, table, desk, or other surface.

Dance club: Sells entry fee.

NPCs have certain duties, as employees. Since NPCs can die, players must find new NPCs to fill positions. Luckily, there are plenty of peasants and homeless people in the alleys. Employees are given uniforms and have a "template" of duties, which can be modified by the owner. Typical duties include:

Baker: Get ingredients. Make dough. Bake. Store items. Sell items. Throw away rotten food.

Butcher: Get ingredients. Butcher. Sell meat. Throw away rotten meat.

Restaurant: Get food. Prepare food. Cook food. Sell food. Serve food. Throw away rotten food.

Bar: Serve drinks. Break up fights. Talk to customers.

Blacksmith: Get material. Store items. Make items. Sell items.

Fletcher: Get material. Store items. Make items. Sell items.

Innkeeper: Sell rooms. Clean rooms.
