Shifters can change form to several different creatures.

Shapeshifter could gain forms after doing quests, and the forms would not be related to mobs. wolf form at level 5, fast attack low damage, a semi thief bear form at level 20, slow attack high damage, a semi tank

get it? also you would learn abilities for those jobs

So the shapeshifter could eventually be any job, to a lesser degree. Kinda like redmage where redmage can cast almost any spell but not a strong.

A shapeshifter could morph in to the animal form of almost any job, but can never use all of his/her abilities at once, because you have to be in a specific form to use an ability. So it balances out.
