Race

From Neverend

Jump to: navigation, search

Players are human by default. Player race can be changed with a temporary or "permanent" effect. Temporary effects include polymorph, shapeshift, and other spell effects. Permanent effects are unlocked through quests and NPCs, but require commitment and are difficult to reverse or undo. These effects will grant abilities and stats while disabling other abilities, such as wearing armor.

Permanent effects:

  • Werewolf
  • Vampire
  • Zombie
  • Lich
  • Spirit
  • Catform
  • Bullform
  • Foxform
  • Wolfform

Temporary effects:

  • Cat
  • Dog
  • Pig
  • Wolf
  • Bear

just a blurt of some racial ideas i have been thinking about. who knows something may be of use? 1 werewolves- well for obvious reasons such creatures would have weapon limitations for they could only wield so much but a good benfit would be their tough hide and incredible stamina. also size would make armor impossible.

2 revenants- similar to vampires, however they would not have to feed on blood and since they are not "demonic" no infernal weaponry could be used.i would say this maybe bio armor sensors could detect a host user,if so that could be why vampires can use armor and revenants cannot.instead revenants could also have higher physical toughness and a regen but cannot seal themselves in armor of any kind.with a weakness of no armor then they would not be perma death.

3 body by frank- yea it's a thought a frank built type could be interesting as a tank type low intelligence would make tham good slave types, and can be built to acomplish a variety of roles.

4. succubus- this would make an interesting race along with it's male counterpart. the obvious for them would be a mind control type of magic more suggestive than mind control.also could sweet talk their way into anything."with but a whisper the world fell into her hands"

5. elves- now obiously these would be the best looking so charisma would be to their advantage and dexterity of elves are supposed to be quite legendary.

6. fell demons- demons who fall from grace, could be lesser demons trying to make a name for themselves.not near as powerfull as their kin but still quite powerfull.these could be the offspring of a demon and human mateing. more human then demon of course and could even be perma death too since most likely they could use the same weapons of both.

7. cyborg- what would happen to a human with to many cybernetics? this is something that i was wondering about since cybernetics could have drastic stat bonuses or attacks. what would be the balance to cybernetics?

Vampire/Dark Elf:

The Vampires could(at higher level) could be immune to sunlight for a time, though with lowered stats. Say.. 10% away from max, so if max were level 100, at level 90, they could gain an ability or skill to make them immune to sunlight.

Dark elves though, could go into sunlight, but would make them extremely weak for a few weeks unless they return to darkness. This would make them very easy to capture(if they want their characters captured)..

Instead of havign "killed/paralyzed by sulight or NOT" have a system of variosu DEGREES of weakness to sunlight..

maybe make some shops sell garlic necklaces that give a boost to defense against vamps

The thing with Dark Elves is they originated as being "in the dark forest", hence the name. Later D&D and FF took this as literally dark skinned, and dark in character (evil). The original Dark Elves were probably a bunch of pale skinned goths.

in the tolkien universe for instance dark elves were not a genuine race but merely inviduals who would not fit into elven society or were expelled from it

true they were. how about if dark elves had special facial paints to make the goth look?and to complete the package maybe make them imune to dark and or shadow spells or resistant to them

in the R.A. Salvatore books for the dark elves.. At first they are very weak, almost blinded, but the more time they spend on the surface, the more accustomed they get to the sunlight, over weeks or months they could become immune to it, like Drizzt Do'Urden did. There could also be a system implemented for DE's that gives them renown, and the more renown they have, they are either liked, as a Drow Knight, of sorts, or feared as a Drow Gladiator.. Or Priest/Priestess, and Sorceror/Sorceress.

there could be some shop items that make dark elves and/or vampires immune to sunlight for a short puriod of time, like some kind of shadow trenchcoat or something like that.
