RTS

From Neverend

The RTS system allows units to attack other units, buildings/cities, and trees/plants. RTS units include individuals, parties, or armies. These units can consist of players, monsters, NPCs, or a mix of both for parties and armies.
City buildings consists of individual buildings, groups of buildings counting as a town or city, and groups of towns or cities counting as a kingdom. Units are either attacking individual building units or groups of buildings. Siege weapons are considered building units, but can be moved and can attack. Building fires can occur from fire spells and siege weapons.
The ecology consists of individual plants and trees, or groups of plants and trees. Like buildings, plants and trees are destroyed by attacking units. Terrain textures can change from devastating spells and siege weapons. Forest fires are common during use of fire spells and siege weapons.

Three allied units on the left are attacking three building/city units. Three allied units on the right are defending their building/city units. The moving units could be indiviudals, parties, or armies. The building units could be buildings, towns, or cities.

[edit] Special Objects

RTS objects grant enormous power to players, creating armies that can be used for siege warfare. The cost of using these objects is usually great in terms of money, craft skill, spell skill, sacrifice, sustained mana, resources, fuel, and other costs that encourage cooperation by many players. For example:

-An altar that creates armies of the undead -A gemstone that creates several golems -An orb that causes terrible disasters and weather effects -A crystal that summons several dragons

RTS defenses: RTS defenses are the massive defense against enemy attackers, and cover large areas of land. Generally one effect can be active in an area at one time. This includes:

-A large forcefield surrounding a city -A large barrier surrounding a city -A large dome surrounding a city -A large wall surrounding a city -A huge wall of stone -A huge wall of fire -A huge wall of trees -A huge wall of branches -A huge wall of ice -A huge wall of granite -A huge wall of spikes

These effects are temporary and will dissapear when the source is destroyed, when they expire, or when they are destroyed by 0 hitpoints. They act as massive area wide effects similar to Black & White.
