[edit] Movement forces

There are several cases where the entire body of a player is moved. The player is simple a set of coordinates- X, Y, and Z. It is relatively easy to force a player to move backwards, but the model must have appropriate animation based on what exactly pushed him back.

Pushing movements: The player is pushed backward due to blocking a strong blow, being hit with a strong blow, being psychically pushed, magically pushed, pushed by an invisible force, a strong wind, etc. The player is stll on his feet, just reeled back a little.

Levitating movements: Items and spells may allow a player to increase their Z height for a brief period, walking on air or flying on wings. This may be limited to a couple seconds at first. There are other non-consensual forms of levitation. For example, being raised by ropes in a torture device, or a magic spell. Also, a dragon who bites down on a player and lifts them up, or a giant who grabs a player and lifts them. When lifted by such a creature, the player will probably be tossed.

Tossing movement: Tossing is the act of pushing horizontally while lifting vertically, at the same time rotating the player sideways and spinning the player around at the same time. Tossing happens when a huge giant has swiped you with an enormous club, or a dragon has whacked you with its tail. Tossing can happen with powerful magical spells, powerful item effects, and powerful siege weapons. Tossing may look like physics, but it's simply multiple repositionings happening at once, based on how hard you were hit.

Impact movement: When tossed on the ground, the player will slide horizontally a bit. When hitting a wall, building, or object, the player will come in contact with that surface and then move in the opposite direction while falling to the ground. In other words, a player is thrown against a building and appears to bounce off and hit the ground.

Repositioning: Repositioning is happens when a player has accidentally clipped into forbidden geometry. A player who has fallen into the ground, or walked in to the side of a hill, or gets stuck in a tree, or walks through a wall. Since the player cannot physically exist in these spaces, he is pushed outward until he is on the external surface. A player who falls in the ground will be pushed up to the ground instead of falling. Clipping isn't supposed to happen, but when it does, this is a failsafe. Inside of geometry = pushed out.
