Knockout

The knockout state disables a player or NPC, essentially making them sleep without the option to wake up, until the effect wears off. Knockouts can occur from blunt weapons, blackjacks, sleeping spells, potions, plants, psychic attack, gas, and electricity. Powerful natural effects such as avalanches, boulders, or being hit by a siege weapon can cause knockout status.

Police and guards will try to knockout a player if the player is using less than lethal force or committing a small crime. The player is then brought to a cell to be dealt with.

Bandits may choose to knockout a player and take their money instead of killing them, in the case of non-murderous thieves.

Animals and monsters can knockout a player in order to use a special move such as health and magic draining, soul stealing, and initiating sex.
