Characters eat by holding an item in the active hand and putting it to their mouth. They will decrease the quantity of food, leaving some left over, if they do not finish it in a single use.

Food is eaten by using the food. Using handheld food on a table will bring the food up to the mouth and place it back down. Using a plate of food will bring a fork or utensil to the mouth instead. Using food in inventory will bring it to the mouth without placing it on anything.

Most animals eat food without using their hands, although they may hold something with their jaw, hands, arms, tentacles, etc.

Drinking is done in the same manner, as a bottle or mug is brought up to the mouth and quantity is reduced. Food and drink is usually used up of 1/4 of its value when used.
