Communication
From Neverend
Communication is what forms a community. There should be plenty of different ways to communicate, in order to prevent the traditional zone spamming.
-Bulletin Boards, towns can have one bulletin board that lists most recent entries. Entries can use default terms and custom messages. Boards include categories such as help wanted, looking for, seeking, quest help, looking for party, guild recruiting, city services, etc. -Posters, these are posters placed on walls and buildings that have a text message. Players can place posters on any building they own. If placed on a building they do not own, they can be taken down by anyone. -Letters, letters are text written on paper. The player who reads them gets a full view of the text, done in ink handwritiing font. -Plaque, has a brief message.
Communication over long areas can take place with several different methods.
Remote messaging, requires a spell or psychic power that allows remote messaging. Special items and magical objects also have the remote message cappability.
NPC messaging, relies on giving a letter or note to a messenger NPC. The messenger NPC must go to a destination and wait there for the intended recipient. Naturally, others can kill the NPC and take the message, intercepting quests information from other players. Includes messenger people, wolves, dogs, birds, and others.
