Game functions are "card based," representing a container object in programming. This allows easy categorization and editing. Cards act as a script for actions and effects. Cards have properties and applications based on their type:

  • System functions
  • Spells
  • Spell effects
  • Monster
  • NPC
  • Terrain type
  • Object
  • Item
  • Ability

Players strive to have higher "capacity" for card storage, higher "ability" for better higher cost cards, and "familiarity" with a card that allows better chance of success. All cards have a familiarity rating that raises indefinitely, peaking at a near plateau of diminishing returns. Familiarity is raised by increased use.

There are no traditional experience levels.

Cards have uses in combat, world interaction, crafting, farming, skills, communication, and automation. Every card has a syntax of rules, a unique serial identifier, a type and class.

Cards are displayed using text and a syntax that desribes its properties. Some cards have associated sprite or bitmap images that are displayed with text, such as a fist image in a "punch" ability card.
